Outstanding Books for the College-Bound: What it is & How to Use it
Amidst the onset of the pandemic, a team of six librarians from across the country came together to read, review, and discuss which titles merited inclusion on the 2019 Outstanding Books for the College Bound list, which covers topics ranging from cooking to climate change, hip hop to historical fiction, dinosaurs to debutantes, and more. This list, released every five years by the Young Adult Library Services Association, is designed to provide college bound teens, lifelong learners, educators, and librarians with 130 titles that engage inspire and challenge. Hear from five of the committee members about their favorite titles on the list, and how they could be used creatively in your library to engage readers.
This program is worth 1 contact hour of continuing education.
