Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Learn about Harford County Public Library's Children's Sensory Room, a dedicated space designed for children to seek, explore and relax through touch, light and sound. Since opening in October 2019, nearly 10,000 children and caregivers have stepped into this high-tech room and have become immersed in the soothing lights and sounds of a tranquil multi-sensory environment. Through appointments, tours and programs, children have benefited from calming effects, stimulation, socialization, improved focus, motor skills development, cognitive development, and sensory development. We'll share what makes the Children's Sensory Room unique and how adding sensory equipment to any library space can positively impact the community. Whether your library has ample or limited space and budget, find out how to make room for a multi-sensory environment.
This program is worth 1 contact hour of continuing education.
