Creative Camp for Libraries

What if we could become idea machines through exercise? No, not bicep curls for brainpower: creativity exercises. This session will encourage participants to flex their creative muscles as it relates to both their work and practice. Some people don't see themselves as creative. Others, including the presenters, believe everyone has the capability to think out of the box in ways both small and large. All creativity requires is enthusiasm, engagement, and improvisation. The presenters will walk campers through a series of activities inspired by improv, design thinking and combinatory play. They will share the fantastic failures and glorious gains yielded when Creativity Camp was offered as a professional development opportunity for library staff at their four-year university. Play and learn, along with the presenters, and build your toolkit for barrier-breaking professional development opportunities.
This program is worth 1 contact hour of continuing education.
